MUSTANG
HISTORY
On
March 9, 1964, the first Mustang was assembled at Ford's Dearborn,
Michigan assembly Plant. It was introduced to the public on September 17,
1964, in the Ford pavilion at the New York World's Fair. The new car was
an immediate success. By mid year 1966, more than a million Mustangs had
been manufactured and sold. In 1969 Ford introduced the Mach 1 which was
produced through 1973. The Mustang's popularity continues today, and they
are a popular restoration project for car enthusiasts around the world.
