MUSTANG HISTORY

On March 9, 1964, the first Mustang was assembled at Ford's Dearborn, Michigan assembly Plant. It was introduced to the public on September 17, 1964, in the Ford pavilion at the New York World's Fair. The new car was an immediate success. By mid year 1966, more than a million Mustangs had been manufactured and sold. In 1969 Ford introduced the Mach 1 which was produced through 1973. The Mustang's popularity continues today, and they are a popular restoration project for car enthusiasts around the world.
